Who We Are
Melbourne Youth Theatre Academy was founded in 2026 by Rian McKinnon and Chloe Goldsmith to offer a storytelling focused and highly collaborative approach to theatre education for young people.
Our goal is to build up MYTA to be the theatre program we wished we had access to when we where younger. One that prepares students for the realties of the industry, while maintaining a safe and nurturing environment.
Our Ethos
We aim to create a space for young performers and theatre makers, to expand their skills and to find like minded peers who are interested in developing their craft and creative voice.
While our current focus is on musical theatre and technical production skills, in the coming years we hope to begin producing student devised works and plays, and offer more education, development and performance opportunities for Melbourne’s young creatives.
