ABOUT
SYNOPSIS: Hadestown: Teen Edition is an intriguing and beautiful folk opera following two intertwining ancient Greek mythic love stories – that of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and that of immortal King Hades and lady Persephone – Hadestown invites audiences on a hell-raising journey to the underworld and back.
Musical Theatre Intensive: Melbourne Youth Theatre Academy’s Musical Theatre Intensive Program production of Hadestown: Teen Edition featured a cast of 38 performers between the ages of 12 and 19 years old. The rehearsal prosses was made up of only 10, 9am-5pm, rehearsals. Plus a final dress run the morning of Friday the 25th before opening night.
Emerging Performer Scholarship recipient demonstrated the following skills as a member of the ensemble, high technical skill in acting, dance and singing, commitment to storytelling through the entirety of their performance; and most importantly, effective and kind collaboration with all members of the cast, crew and creative team, throughout the audition and rehearsal process.
